Smoking break at the Grand America (I wrote this on a 1 X 2inch parking validation)

There is a beauty here
in the subterranean
smoker’s antechamber

where silent men
who don’t speak
eachother’s language
interrupt themselves only
by tapping their cigarettes

knowing full well
how ridiculous and impossible
communication is
they resign themselves unbitter
to their paper cup coffee.
